Innovative day spa roll out for Molton Brown, designed as a ‘kit of parts’ for rapid on-site erection in retail environments. An award-winning scheme.
An innovative day spa concept, for international beauty house Molton Brown which formed the basis of an international roll out. The design consists of a ‘family’ of components that combined created a ‘spa garden’. The components are flexible and can be configured to fit different types of retail or hospitality space. Treatment rooms are freestanding pods, avoiding the need for complex interface details; they create your own personal space- a cocoon.
The pods are accessed via a raised deck describing the journey through the garden whilst concealing servicing and lighting below. The wrapping of the space in a back-lit curtain creates a soft edge, alluding to the space being more expansive. Spaces left between the pods, and openings within the pods provide constantly changing vistas, further enhancing the illusion of space. An award winning and widely published project.
