Harnn Heritage Spa, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Placing a ‘forest’ at the heart of the re-modelling of a 3,250m2 hotel spa to create a highly contemporary Thai styled and operated wellness sanctuary, unique to the Saudi market. Interior space planning, concept design & technical consultancy.

The complex brief required the extensive remodelling and refurbishment of a large hotel spa, set over two storeys with a series of double height atrium spaces. Treatment rooms are set on the first floor, with 15 rooms in total comprising of luxurious suites with dedicated sauna, steam and jacuzzi- and generous standard rooms with further reflexology and hammam rooms. The ground floor provides a unique two storey top lit ‘forest’ garden, around which a retail gallery, salon, gym, ‘wellness bar’, change and pool with pool surround are arranged. The spa is designed as an evolving journey through a series of differing settings- offering a variety of places for guests to enjoy wellness experiences. At the heart of the design is a tall top lit internal ‘forest’, providing the guests with a unique opportunity to relax within the extensive planted areas and benefit from the biophilic character of the setting. The first Thai operated spa in 30 years in KSA, this spa is designed in a highly contemporary Thai style- with modern fresh colours, a purposeful move away from traditional Thai resort styling.
